My son is a Pumpkin.
October has always been special to me. I love Fall and all it brings with it – the sunny and crisp air, watching the leaves change color, bringing out the sweaters and jeans, chilly nights that call for snuggling, all things pumpkin, AND it’s my Birth month. So, there’s a lot going on between me and October. 😊
When I found out I was going to become a mother the day before my 30th birthday, I was ecstatic. Not only was my dream of motherhood coming true, it was going to happen right before my birthday. What a gift! Nine months later, we were blessed with a son.
Like most kiddos he wasn’t born on his due date. He chose Halloween as his birthday.
Halloween means more to me than just dressing up and eating candy. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy those parts too, but it’s the mystery, magic, and tradition that I love. Halloween was birthed from a Celtic festival called Samhain (pronounced “sow-win”). In ancient times, families would gather in a circle around a fire to welcome the Autumn harvest during Samhain. It was their most significant festival. There was also a belief that the barriers between the spiritual and physical world became thin on this night, making it easier to communicate with loved ones passed.
Learning about this was fascinating, as it resonated with who I am. It spoke to my strong spiritual center and my Celtic connection as I am named after my grandmother, whose namesake was a Saint and a Celtic goddess.
Knowing it after Campbell was born brought me great joy and comfort. Joy in that his birthday was rooted in a celebration of family, something that is of great importance to me. And Comfort in the confirmation that three women that I love dearly and lost were with us on that day. Although they are always with me in spirit, the thought of having Cam’s mom and my grandmothers hold our son and be a part of our family’s beginning is yet another gift. One that celebrated and affirmed parts of me that I always knew were there.
It’s no coincidence that I became a mother on Halloween. God/The Universe knew that connecting my spirituality/gifts to this significant event would allow me to embrace who I am. Wherever your Spirituality lies, it knows what your gifts are and how to connect to your heart center so you can live out your purpose. It’s always working for your highest good, leaving you signs along the path to help guide you along the way. They may be small like an encouraging text coming in at just the right moment or big like my story, but they are there.
Discovering Your Own Signs
Sometimes you need a little help interpreting the signs and that’s where I come in. During a session, I’ll be there as a guide. Creating a safe, nurturing space so you can hear what your heart is saying and understand what you need to do. Are you ready?
