In 2012 I went on a retreat weekend with one of my besties. Truth is we barely knew each other, and this was the beginning of a forever friendship. This weekend was a huge turning point for both of us both as friends, personally, and professionally.
It was a time when I was really struggling, we had recently moved, I was in the middle of careers, trying to start a family and just feeling really lost. There are a few moments in life when I experienced something that I knew changed me. We both left, knowing what we had discovered about ourselves in that short time away…transformed us. We didn’t even know what that meant and it didn’t matter. We left open to opportunity and growth. We had new knowledge that would ground us into our next chapter. Looking back this experience has unfolded into ways neither of us could have imagined possible.
We have both stepped into the truth of our being because we took a chance and went away that weekend. We took time from the hustle and bustle to go within and to hear our own voices speaking to us. There’s something magical that happens when you give yourself permission to slow down, unravel, seek inner wisdom, community, and rest.
The workshops I attended that weekend changed my life, I took my first kundalini class…didn’t even know what it was but I cried and cried. It moved me in ways I still don’t have words for. Workshop after workshop I dug deep, seeking to hear my own voice and it became clearer and clearer. Even in the weeks and months that followed I continued to use the the tools I learned and continued to grow.
The 2012 version of me would have never believed what the 2020 version of me now knows… I would move forward in my life to empower others by connecting them deeply within their spirit. AND that one day I would be asked to facilitate workshops at weekend retreat called Rise Gatherings. To hold space for others & teach the tools that have guided me to this exact moment is humbling to say the least. I had this vision at the weekend retreat in 2012…and I didn’t know how to make it happen or what exactly it would look like and well here we are…
you’re invited to go on your own journey & join me for an amazing weekend (May 29th – 31st) where community becomes family and life changes before your eyes.
And my favorite quote lives on “It’s never too late to be what you might have been”.
